IN BLOOM: FLORAL STYLING

Blooms are certainly bountiful this time of year; it thrills me to look around and see so many different colors and textures of flowers in gardens and in the trees. It is always wonderful to bring some of those colorful petals of joy inside as well. Here are a few tips for putting together floral arrangements to incorporate into your decor.

SMALL BUT MIGHTY

Arrangements don't need to be massive to be impactful. A single beautiful bloom with a bit of greenery in a petite vase can give so much life to an open shelf, side table, or window ledge.

BUNDLE IT

Gathering several stems of the same type of flower is always a good look. Hydrangea, roses, and lilies for example, are beautiful bundled together, and don't need anything else to command attention.

SHADES AND TONES

An arrangement made up of many shades and tones of the same color, but using different types of flowers, showcases the texture of the blooms and creates a lovely complement to the color palette of the room.

COMPLEMENTS

Using blooms of complementary colors makes for a dynamic and lively arrangement; balance the colors with greenery or blooms for fullness and dimension.

MIX IT UP

The options really are limitless - blooms of all different colors, shapes, and sizes all work well together and can provide a stunning centerpiece for your table or kitchen island.
