Welcome to the fifth issue of The Cadence! Inside, you will find inspiration from a stunning bathroom remodel, a design tip featuring natural stone accents, a new photography piece titled “Wisp”, and a local highlight: the upcoming Tapio Wirkkala exhibition at the Chrysler Museum of Art.

August has been a flurry of activity: another amazing bath remodel wrapped up, progress continued on a kitchen remodel, I traveled to visit family, and also had family come visit me at home. Wishing you the best for these last days of summer!

Design Tip: Pebbles!

Natural stone pebbles are a great option for a shower floor or accent. There are a variety of color blends and textures to choose from. For this project, I went for a smooth, level pebble in a circular shape. Rounded pebbles with irregular shapes are also available for that natural river rock feeling underfoot.

Pebbles do need to be resealed since they are a natural stone, but the resealing process is very easy. They are a wonderful way to bring a bit of the outside in. Yay, pebbles!

Hue Knew?

Green has been shaping interiors for centuries! In Renaissance art it symbolized growth and renewal, while Art Nouveau designers brought it indoors to evoke nature. Today, it adds calm and subtle sophistication to modern kitchens - especially when paired with gold accents, shown here in a recent project!✨

Exhibition Highlight: Tapio Wirkkala

If you love mid century modern design, don’t miss the Tapio Wirkkala: Still exhibition at the Chrysler Museum of Art. Reknowned for his sculptural glass, woodwork, and elegant simplicity, Wirkkala helped shape an aesthetic that still inspires interiors today.
